Back to work and the Fiesta Bowl

bedroom carpet install 007

After two weeks off, my husband is back to work today. I am not sure if I miss him or if I am glad to have things getting back to normal.  CJ does not seem to listen to me as well when Daddy is home.  (ugh) We are missing him regardless.
TurnOffTVWeek
After wednesday we will be cable free. I am excited and nervous. We have tried to explain to CJ as much as we could. He cried a little and wanted to know how he could watch his cartoons. (awww) We told him that is why he has so many dvds. Would you believe this same child did not watch tv at all the first two years of his life? We will still have local channels, so he can still see Clifford, Curious George, Word World, etc. I am really looking forward to all the quality time we will now be spending as a family instead of in front of the tv.
rv
Not sure if you know this or not...it is listed in my "about me"  section. It is a dream of mine to someday own an rv and travel all over. Well we are always talking about them and CJ asked PJ over the weekend if he could see inside one.  ;) (that's my boy, he also asked if he could get one for Christmas) (I wish)  Anyway, I looked it up and the annual boat and rv show is this coming weekend, so I think we are going to take him so he can see inside an rv like he wants to.  Good cheap fun.

Some of you have asked about our decision re: PJ's job opportunity,we are still praying about it. To be honest if the economy were in a better place I don't think we would be quite as apprehensive about the cut in pay. Who
knows. I have also mentioned that if it is meant to be it will be. I get the feeling that the timing is a little off. I also think we like being on the outside looking in (so to speak) rather than on the inside looking out. There are some things I would rather be in the dark about. Does that make sense?

Tonight the Buckeyes take on the Texas Longhorns @ the Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, AZ.  GO BUCKS!!! According to the hubby, the Big 10 is not doing so well in their bowl games. I have faith in our Buckeyes.
In honor of our Buckeyes big game tonight...I want to share this pictures with you...CJ is 4 months old in these pictures...a true Buckeye from birth...

That is it for now.

Do you enjoy photo updates? (even though they are tacky photos? Except for the ones of CJ;)  )

Television

How much tv does your family watch?
Can you go with out the tv?
If so for how long?
I would like to say that we do not watch much tv, but after having to re-arrange things so that all could be recorded by the dvr and still having to watch a show in "real time", just to not miss anything, I came to the conclusion that we do watch TOO much tv.
The solution...I wish I could say that we would just not watch, but I have NO willpower, so that probably won't happen. So the hubs and I had a talk and decided that come 2009 we will turn our cable OFF. No more tv for house. I think this will bring us closer together as a couple and as a family and most importantly closer to the Lord.
Our church does small groups through out the week in various families homes. We are going to sign up for one or possibly host one of our own. We will also read more and do more outings together as a family. Possibly even get in a regular "date night" most weeks or at least once a month.
I am looking forward to it. We will no longer "submit" to our tv schedule/dvr, but submit to the Lord, as we should always do.
Are you working on any "New Year's resolutions"?

National Stay at Home Week

Well it is here...fall, football, school, and now a new season of new shows and the return of some favorites.
Here is a list of my faves...I will try to keep up with them, but this will not happen. TV always gets put to the back burner in our house.
Dancing with the Stars. Ok I confess, I am only watching this to see a couple of the stars...Susan Lucci, Ted Mcguinley, and Cloris Leachman. (that woman was HILARIOUS)
Biggest Loser. Not sure I will actually keep up with this one this season. I prefer the seasons where the contestants compete individually, not neccessarily the ones where they are teamed up with family. (not sure why that is)
Grey's Anatomy. Yes I am so addicted to this show. It premiered while I was pregnant and stuck at home with nothing else to do but watch TV. I have been glued to my tv ever since.
Desparate Housewives. I actually started watching this with my Mom and have continued since.
Brothers & Sisters. I LOVE this show. I think it might be my favorite one. I think it is a touch realistic. As far as how the siblings interact. And I LOVE Sally Field.
Samantha Who. I really like this show, all I do is laugh when it is on. I absolutely adore the best friend. Not the mean one, the bubbly one.
I think that is it. So what are your fall faves? Anything that you can not miss or plan your life around?
